DAVID – Production, R & D, Quality and Supply Chain Manager

LJF : WHAT IS YOUR CAREER PATH WITHIN JACQUARD?
David : I graduated as a textile engineer in June 1998 from ENSAIT in Roubaix. My goal in doing this degree was to work for a building company using tensile fabric structures (stadiums, building sites).
I started out in a dyeing factory as their Production Manager. When this factory closed, I was hired at Le Jacquard Français as Production Manager. I arrived in 2007 and stayed there for 5 years.
Then I worked in digital printing in Lille for a few months, and for 3 and a half years I was Technical Director at a coating company in Sélestat (Strasbourg-Colmar).
I returned to Le Jacquard Français as Production, R & D, Quality and Supply Chain Manager in 2017.

LJF : How would you explain your job to a child?
David : I am the head of the company's machines.

LJF : WHAT DO YOU LIKE ABOUT YOUR COMPANY?
David: I like people contact, managing teams and the love for technology.

LJF : WHAT QUALITIES DO YOU THINK ARE REQUIRED TO DO YOUR JOB?
David : I think you have to be calm, have an analytical mind and a certain amount of curiosity.

LJF : WHAT COLLECTION HAS HAD THE BIGGEST IMPACT ON YOU?
David : The Chinese market; when I arrived it was an existing model and we still make it! It is a model that transcends time.

LJF : What does the Le Jacquard brand mean to you?
David : It's a great choice of colours and materials that modernise traditions.

LJF : WHAT DO THE 130 YEARS OF EXPERTISE INSPIRE FOR YOU?
David : It makes me humble that people had the idea to create productions and start a business and today, we are continuing this work which will define the Le Jacquard Français company of the future.
