Wilmotte

The architecture of the gaze

Through this exclusive collaboration with Jean-Michel Wilmotte, Le Jacquard Français translates an architectural language into the world of home linen.

Portrait of Jean-Michel Wilmotte

Jean-Michel Wilmotte is an architect, urban planner and designer, and has been a member of the Académie des Beaux-Arts since 2015. Born in 1948 in Soissons, France, and a graduate in interior architecture from the École Camondo in Paris, he founded the Wilmotte & Associés agency in 1975. Today, together with its design studio Wilmotte & Industries, the agency brings together 250 architects, urban planners, designers, museum designers and interior architects of 27 nationalities across France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Senegal and South Korea. From Dallas to Seoul, via Moscow, Dakar and São Paulo, Jean-Michel Wilmotte and his teams have been travelling the world for more than 45 years, placing people, their cultures and their stories at the heart of their creations wherever they work.

Whatever the project, from the simplest to the most spectacular, they take an approach that is both innovative and responsible, paying particular attention to materials, light, finishes and greenery, always respecting the site and its history.

The CLUB by Wilmotte Collection was born from a dialogue between two sensibilities and two French savoir-faire. One: traditional, artisanal and centuries-old; the other: architectural, visionary and contemporary.

Through this textile range, Le Jacquard Français and architect Jean-Michel Wilmotte join forces to showcase France's exceptional heritage, leaving their mark on it over time.

Drawing inspiration from the architectural structures of his own buildings, Jean-Michel Wilmotte boldly transcribes the lines of timber framing onto fabric. A lover of materials, the architect's vocabulary comes to life, and the weaving becomes akin to a sketchbook.

With its clean, contemporary lines, the collection invites you to gather around a beautiful table with a distinctive identity.
